Sheila Jackson Lee goes all Democrat, implies Republicans are racist in debt ceiling negotiations

Because President Obama is half-black of course and perhaps, they know they are losing the argument:

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) used the race card this afternoon to assess blame in the debt ceiling fight. Jackson Lee, a black Congresswoman, believes the disagreement over raising the debt ceiling is because of President Obama’s race.

“I am particularly sensitive to the fact that only this president, only this president, only this one has received the kind attacks and disagreements and inability to work. Only this one,” Jackson Lee said on the House floor this afternoon.

“Read between the lines.”

Raising taxes and race-baiting.  Apparently there’s nothing else Democrats are good for and nothing else they can bring to the table in this debt ceiling debate.  Is anyone really surprised?

UPDATE.  In rushing to get this post up yesterday, I didn’t include the key portion of Jackson-Lee’s floor speech.  Here is the key bit from a Fox News piece:

“What is different about this president that should put him in a position that he should not receive the same kind of respectful treatment of when it is necessary to raise the debt limit in order to pay our bills?” she added. . . .

“In the minority community that is the question that is being raised. Why is this president being treated so disrespectfully?”

Obama’s Justice Dept. “at war” with its equal protection mission

Who would have thought that a radical and bitterly partisan the pragmatic President Obama would allow this to happen in his administration:

The Justice Department has tried to hide the involvement of high-level political officials in the dismissal of a controversial voter-intimidation lawsuit against members of the New Black Panther Party, a federal commission concluded in a draft report.

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights said the department’s reversal in the case, which drew criticism from conservatives, indicates that its Civil Rights Division is failing to protect white voters and is “at war with its core mission of guaranteeing equal protection of the laws for all Americans.”

The Justice Department strongly denied the allegations in the report based on the commission’s year-long investigation into the Obama administration’s handling of the 2008 case. The Bush administration had filed a voter-intimidation lawsuit against members of the New Black Panther Party in Philadelphia who were videotaped outside a polling place, one carrying a nightstick. The Obama Justice Department dismissed most of the case.

The lawsuit brought on by the Bush Administration came after incidents of voter intimidation in November 2008.  Here’s a refresher from a Philadelphia polling place:

There you have it–blatant voter intimidation, complete with paramilitary uniforms and nightsticks, and allegations of cover-ups at the highest levels of the Federal government.

I’m desperately awaiting how the watchful eyes of our national media cover this story, if at all.  Are the idiots on the left who whined about the alleged politicization of the branches of government during the Bush administration start bitching about this too?  Doubt it.

The crisis reached a howling pitch in mid-April, 2008, at an ABC News debate moderated by Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos. Gibson asked Obama why it had taken him so long – nearly a year since Wright’s remarks became public – to dissociate himself from them. Stephanopoulos asked, “Do you think Reverend Wright loves America as much as you do?”

Watching this all at home were members of Journolist, a listserv comprised of several hundred liberal journalists, as well as like-minded professors and activists. The tough questioning from the ABC anchors left many of them outraged. “George [Stephanopoulos],” fumed Richard Kim of the Nation, is “being a disgusting little rat snake.”

Others went further. According to records obtained by The Daily Caller, at several points during the 2008 presidential campaign a group of liberal journalists took radical steps to protect their favored candidate. Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.

In one instance, Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with Wright by changing the subject. Pick one of Obama’s conservative critics, Ackerman wrote, “Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”

Ed Morrissey:

Let’s put this in its proper perspective. Ackerman wasn’t talking about a strategy to expose real racists, in the media or anywhere else. The Washington Independent reporter wanted to conduct a campaign against any figure on the Right, including journalists like Fred Barnes, to smear him as a racist for the political purposes of electing a Democrat to the White House.

Notice that Ackerman doesn’t even bother to ask people to look for actual evidence of racism, but just suggests to pick a conservative name out of a hat.

You can substitute Ackerman for any of the endless list of progressive/liberal journalists, reporters and talking-heads.

Clearly the real problem in American politics today is that a Tea Party leader was forcibly ejected from the Tea Party Federation.  Clearly.

NAACP applauds racism (UPDATE) USDA official resigns for not being racist

This entire episode with the NAACP calling out Tea Party nation for alleged racism is so pathetic and depressing, and I’ve tried to avoid it.  I’m always hesitant about these so-called advocacy groups like the NAACP and the like; they’re so politically entrenched in the Democratic party that you have to be completely blind to their obviously biased inclinations.  The NAACP doesn’t advocate the advancement of colored people–they advocate the advancement of left-leaning Democratic colored people.  Conservative colored people need not apply.

In its usual spineless way, the mainstream media picked up on the meme, booking their NAACP guests that pushed the whole storyline–all of it was conjecture and subjective.

Breitbart states the obvious:

The NAACP and the Congressional Black Caucus do not want racial harmony. They want political victory, and the race card is their Stradivarius.

Three months later, the NAACP decided to “double-down” on the fabricated “”Tea Party/racism” narrative and has the gall to include the disproved Capitol Hill “N Word” non-incident as their formal condemnation of the Tea Party. Simply by snapping its figures, the mainstream media again parroted lies. The Tea Party was guilty until it proved itself innocent. A most un-American and, dare I say, culturally Marxist construct.

In fact, it’s worse. The media that provided the left a platform to accuse the Tea Party, all the while refusing to air any exculpatory evidence. Again, the mainstream media inserts itself as the number one weapon in the progressive weapons stash. Political correctness, as the Duke Lacrosse case exemplified, trumps all in PC America and her afflicted media.

He then goes on to post video proof of the disturbing and ugly racism inherent in the race-baiting world of progressive liberalism.

Meet Shirley Sherrod:

We are in possession of a video from in which Shirley Sherrod, USDA Georgia Director of Rural Development, speaks at the NAACP Freedom Fund dinner in Georgia. In her meandering speech to what appears to be an all-black audience, this federally appointed executive bureaucrat lays out in stark detail, that her federal duties are managed through the prism of race and class distinctions.

[...]Sherrod describes how she racially discriminates against a white farmer. She describes how she is torn over how much she will choose to help him. And, she admits that she doesn’t do everything she can for him, because he is white. Eventually, her basic humanity informs that this white man is poor and needs help. But she decides that he should get help from “one of his own kind”. She refers him to a white lawyer.

The second video is just as disturbing as Sherrod more or less encourages black people to get government jobs because they won’t get laid off.  Racist stereotypes anyone?

My post is somewhat sloppy, because I’m writing after having read Breitbart’s piece twice, and words can’t explain how frustrating and insane all of this is.  For decades, the Democrats have been the party of race-baiting, playing the race card for political purposes and to spew their own brand of hate.  Add in a complicit media, and we’re on a course for disaster.

Breitbart rightfully lauds the Tea Party, and its importance in counterbalancing and fighting the hate.
