Democrats have their Wall Street cake, and eat it too.

October 19, 2011 Leave a comment

This is certainly not surprising to learn, but it is amazing that Democrats are always this brazen about their hypocrisy:

Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) said taking money from a group doesn’t equate to supporting them. “It’s what you fight for and how you vote, it always has been,” Kerry said in a recent interview. “It’s hard to run for office and not have somebody in some sector or some industry have contributed to you; but the question is, are you voting commonsense and values and for the interests of the people, broadly?”

See?  It’s ok to pander for money from greedy, Wall Street 1%-types, who, say some OWS clowns, should be executed, and throw them under the bus while on the campaign trail at the same time.

It’s also OK for Senator Kerry to dock his boat in Rhode Island to avoid his state’s onerous luxury yacht taxes.  It’s all for the betterment of Massachusetts voters, and Americans in general.   So, when will you ignorant Tea Partiers stop being such rubes?

Congressional Black Caucus member: “Tea Partiers want blacks hanging from a tree”

August 31, 2011 Leave a comment

Looking for a new tone in political discourse?  The Congressional Black Caucus has your new tone–same as the old tone for today’s Democrat party.  Which is to say angry, race-baiting politics:

A top lawmaker in the Congressional Black Caucus says tea partiers on Capitol Hill would like to see African-Americans hanging from trees and accuses the movement of wishing for a return to the Jim Crow era.

Rep. Andre Carson, a Democrat from Indiana who serves as the CBC’s chief vote counter, said at a CBC event in Miami that some in Congress would “love to see us as second-class citizens” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me … hanging on a tree.”

Why is Carson using such vile rhetoric?  Frustration over the utter failure of the left’s spend and spend some more policies:

Carson’s spokesman, said the comment was “in response to frustration voiced by many in Miami and in his home district in Indianapolis regarding Congress’s inability to bolster the economy.”   Tomcsi, in an email, wrote that “the congressman used strong language because the Tea Party agenda jeopardizes our most vulnerable and leaves them without the ability to improve their economic standing.

“The Tea Party is protecting its millionaire and oil company friends while gutting critical services that they know protect the livelihood of African-Americans, as well as Latinos and other disadvantaged minorities,” Tomcsi wrote. “We are talking about child nutrition, job creation, job training, housing assistance, and Head Start, and that is just the beginning. A child without basic nutrition, secure housing, and quality education has no real chance at a meaningful and productive life.”

Raising taxes on their perceived enemies and spending money to solve any problem are the only solution they have for anything.  When that fails then, well, it’s all about race-baiting for Democrats.   Their constituents will continue to suffer.  And if anyone raises objections (in this instance, the Tea Party), they vilify that person or group as wanting that  suffering to continue.  Then you have explanations like that from Carson’s office.

It is the vile underbelly of leftist politics.  And as the economy continues to sour, we will be seeing more hateful rhetoric from the left.

UPDATE.  Video/audio added, via Hot Air:

Carson’s comments start about 10 seconds in, with additional commentary by other angry CBC members throughout the video.

Maxine Waters: The Tea Party can go to hell

August 21, 2011 Leave a comment

Bitter old bag:

On Saturday in Inglewood, Calif., Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters had some harsh words for the tea party.

“I’m not afraid of anybody,” the California congresswoman told constituents in footage that appeared on ABC affiliate KABC in Los Angeles, not backing down from comments made about President Obama earlier in the week. “This is a tough game. You can’t be intimidated. You can’t be frightened. And as far as I’m concerned — the tea party can go straight to hell.”

That proclamation was met with cheers from the audience, including attendees sporting purple SEIU T-shirts.

Tone down the rhetoric, indeed.

The Democrats thrive on hate and anger, and this story is just another example of that.  And make no mistake, if it was up to progressives, Maxine Waters would be President and not Barack Obama.   She’s right up their alley.

Vice President Biden retracts saying what he didn’t say

August 2, 2011 Leave a comment

Standard Biden fare, as he is an idiot:

Vice President Joe Biden triggered an outcry Monday when he agreed with House Democrats as they described Tea Party Republicans as “terrorists.” Biden first denied he used the term, but his office later conceded that he and others used it in a closed door meeting with House Democrats.

After POLITICO reported that Biden said the Tea Party “have acted liked terrorists,” the GOP cried foul and in the ensuing controversy Biden’s spokesperson, Kendra Barkoff, finally issued a statement “clarifying” the issue.

“The word [terrorist] was used by several members of Congress. The vice president does not believe it’s an appropriate term in political discourse.”

During the closed door meeting, Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) also verbally attacked the Tea Party movement and Republicans who support the group’s platform in his comments.

“We have negotiated with terrorists,” a frustrated Doyle said, according to sources that were in the room at the time the statement was made.

Where are the media drones screaming about toning down the violent rhetoric.  It really is amazing how much Democrats get away with in our political discourse.

Jonah Goldberg: Media can go to hell

August 2, 2011 Leave a comment

Goldberg is pissed, as well he should be, and I agree 100% with his column.

The new tone in Washington that Democrats lamented for in the wake of the Giffords shooting in January, was and always will be nonsense because liberals and their enablers in the national media are liars and hypocrites.

Bachmann’s migraine “problem”

July 21, 2011 Leave a comment

It doesn’t get much dumber than this.  Caught this screenshot last night off of the WaPo website.  Idiocy on parade:

This is from a  “serious” political pundit, people us rubes need to really listen to and take seriously when it comes to politics in Washington.  Apparently forcing a conservative Republican woman to release a doctor’s note confirming she has migraines, and that said migraines might negate her ability to be President are of paramount concern to our media overlords.

When you want to see Obama’s birth certificate however, or ask questions about his past drug use, well then clearly we need to STFU because we’re all racists.

Fat, white and male liberal talk-show host from MSNBC on Laura Ingraham: “She’s a right-wing slut”

May 25, 2011 Leave a comment

Behold, the new civility:

The transcript:

“And what do the Republicans thinking about?” Schultz said. “They’re not thinking about their next-door neighbor. They’re just thinking about how much this is going to cost. President Obama is going to be visiting Joplin, Mo., on Sunday but you know what they’re talking about, like this right-wing slut, what’s her name?, Laura Ingraham? Yeah, she’s a talk slut. You see, she was, back in the day, praising President Reagan when he was drinking a beer overseas. But now that Obama’s doing it, they’re working him over.”

Lean forward, MSNBC, lean forward.

UPDATE.   Stacy McCain is listening for feminist outrage, but alas, there is none to be heard.   Yentas.

Jan Schakowski: America’s youth finally has something to be proud about

May 12, 2011 Leave a comment

The voters of Illinois’ ninth congressional district are an interesting lot.   How else do you explain electing this kind of yenta to Congress every two years?  Here she is talking about how great the “murder” of Osama bin Laden was, for the benefit of our nation’s youth and their precious egos:

It was huge, according to Illinois Democratic Rep. Jan Schakowsky, who said the bin Laden operation helped change some Americans’ perception of their country. On Wednesday’s “Hardball” on MSNBC, Schakowsky made her case.

“I agree with you,” Schakowsky said. “I think that that was seminal event in their lives, you know? This is the big deal for them growing up. And so I think that there is just a feeling now, not just with young people but getting over this feeling that maybe America’s kind of a loser. And now that we’re a winner, I think it’s very important.”

She also explained why she agreed with President Barack Obama’s decision not release the Osama bin Laden post-mortem photos, suggesting that doing so would be bragging about a kind of “murder.”

“I can’t imagine — what service would it be to the public to provide those kinds of photos,” Schakowsky said. “[T]hat kind of chest-thumping and you know, being — bragging about this kind of murder, no I think the president has handled it just right and most people absolutely believe that he is dead and certainly, those who don’t are not going to be convinced.

In Jan Schakowsky’s world, murder is good when Democrats are doing the murdering and it helps the young people of our nation to feel patriotic and proud of our country.  But Republicans are dumb rubes because they want proof.  Is it any wonder that this country is slipping into decline, with “leaders” like this in Washington?

People deserve the politicians they deserve I guess.

The left and Osama bin Laden

So let me get this straight.

The Professional Left, the morons in the media, idiots like Keith Olbermann and Ed Schultz and the rest, and all the other pearl-clutchers now APPROVE of waterboarding brown people at a military detention center outside of US legal jurisdiction, in order to gain information for clandestine raids into countries with which the USA is not at war to kill people without trial?

Do I have this right?

Because it seems that the same people who wanted to string Bush/Cheney up for “war crimes” not even three years ago, are now claiming that Obama is a virtuous patriot and fearless leader.

Astroturfing a non-existent “backlash” against Paul Ryan

April 29, 2011 Leave a comment

As Republicans in Congress use the Easter break to make their case for Paul Ryan’s entitlement reform to the American people, liberals would love it if constituents would start “raucous” town-hall meetings, a la the anti-Obamacare Tea Party events that took place during the summer of 2009.

Yes they would absolutely if that would happen.  Too bad for them, because it isn’t:

How did things go for Republicans in their initial defense of the Ryan budget?  Well, consider the intensity of the Left’s desire for an anti-GOP, anti-Ryan, “Town Hall Backlash” narrative. And then consider the relatively small number of “incidents” reported in the news, the sensational headlines that were never written.  […]

It might be too soon to say Republicans are winning the budget debate, but they definitely aren’t losing it, and that’s a real slap in the face for liberals who were absolutely convinced that Americans would never accept a plan as bold as Ryan’s.

Meanwhile, look at this “outrage” at Paul Ryan’s most recent town-hall (via):

These people are outraged I say.  Outraged!
